Data Analytics Consultant (12 Month FTE)

This position is a FTE 12 month contract initially and could extend to permanent after 12 months.

Purpose of the Role

  • Working with customers’ technical, business and management teams to understand their strategy and identify requirements, in order to provide data, analytics and platform solutions
  • Developing and leading the implementation of the Microsoft Power Platform solutions, with a primary focus on data analytics
  • Leading data and analytics development through all stages of engagement - from pre-sales through to requirements capture, business analysis and technical solutions design.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning, designing, and delivering data and analytics solutions that meet business requirements and drive clear commercial benefits for customers
  • Capture requirements, develop specification documents and perform tasks such as configuration, testing, data manipulation and documentation
  • Effective delivery of consultancy, through quality of implementation and delivery and knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform products and service
  • Develop and demonstrate strong Microsoft Power Platform product skills, specifically Power BI
  • Communicating analysis and technical concepts to non-technical users, clearly and concisely
  • Champion continuous improvements to the data and analytics function, using a proactive and solution-oriented approach
  • Where appropriate, undertake delivery of product training in a classroom or on-site setting.

Technical Expertise

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in roles involving data analytics, business intelligence, and data management
  • Experience working with BI visualisation tools - Power BI and DAX preferred
  • Proven development experience including processing, modelling, manipulating, and analysing large datasets
  • Familiarity with SQL and ETL processes
  • Previous experience with the Microsoft Dynamics Power Platform (formerly Microsoft Dynamics CRM)
  • Ability to create high quality functional documentation and strong requirements gathering skills
  • Customer support – resolving issues directly, using your own skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a numerate, business or computing subject, or an equivalent qualification 
  • Microsoft Certified Professional or ability to gain MCP qualifications through self-study 
  • A level qualification or equivalent.

This role is UK-based and will require visits to customer sites in the UK and Ashton Court's HQ in Northampton. The position involves flexible working, with the opportunity to work from home. Although the majority of our staff work from or within a reasonable commute to our offices, we also have staff working remotely from wider locations.  We welcome applications from candidates located throughout the UK, particularly based around the Midlands.  However, ability and attitude are more important than location.
