Adxstudio, From Microsoft: How this Web Portal Solution Could be a Game Changer for Your Web Site and CRM

In September 2015, Microsoft acquired Adxstudio Portals, which is a Web Portal and customer engagement solution built specifically for Dynamics CRM. Now available to Dynamics CRM Online customers, Microsoft has released a new version of Adxstudio Portals with a new name – Microsoft Dynamics CRM Portals Add-On.

Have you heard of Adxstudio Portals?

Possibly not, but if your company uses Dynamics CRM or is considering implementing Dynamics CRM Online and wants to engage with customers via your website, then we think you should know more about Adxstudio Portals. At Ashton Court Group we are confident it will be a game changer for you.

What is the difference between Adxstudio portal and a regular website?

Here are just three main differences:

  1. Adxstudio Portals has a built in login function, which means you can display content related to a logged in user or a group of users. You can of course display publically accessible portal content but with login ability you can provide an enhanced and personalised experience for your customers.
  2. Adxstudio Portals is fully integrated inside Dynamics CRM, which means no need for connectors or other plugins that are often required to connect a website with a database or other applications.
  3. Adxstudio Portals adjusts automatically to suit the device/screen being used to view it. There is no need to create duplicate pages or spend time configuring a mobile and tablet friendly version of web pages – the portal has this sorted out of the box!

How does an Adxstudio portal work?

Adxstudio Portals is installed inside your Dynamics CRM, which means you build and update Web Portal pages from inside your CRM. Therefore, with trained in-house staff, you can update your Web Portal instantly and you are not reliant on an external supplier to make changes for you – you have complete control.

What are the advantages of integrating Dynamics CRM with Adxstudio Portals?

Here are just three integration examples that our customers have benefited from:

  • Enquiries submitted from the portal are created instantly as a Lead record in CRM. You can then use CRM to undertake your lead qualification process.
  • Customers can create a login to the Portal, which in turn generates a Contact record in CRM. If the customer updates their contact details on the portal it will update their Contact record in CRM.
  • Customers can log service issues or product problems via the portal and those are created as Case records in CRM. Your customer service team can then action then immediately and of course you can use SLA options available in CRM to make sure Cases are dealt with in a timely manner.

Does this mean Web Portal users have access to Dynamics CRM?

No! You build Web Portal pages that display CRM data back to the customer. You are in control of what data is displayed to a portal user, and what personal details the portal user can update/change. In a nutshell, Dynamic CRM is the backend database to your Web Portal.
